Top Load

The HF 2918 is a top loading design and offers a chamber 29" diameter x 18 deep. The 18" deep chamber makes it easy to load and unload. The rim of the chamber is 29" from the floor which is waist height or lower.

Lid Lift Assist

To assist in opening and closing Evenheat has equipped the HF 2918 with the patented Dyna-Lift lid lift assist.​ The Dyna-Lift lightens the force needed to operate the kiln lid by attaching and lifting at a single point, the lid handle. The lift assist is not attached to the kiln chamber at all. All heavy lifting forces are directed entirely to the kiln stand and not the kiln itself. It's a great design that places no lifting forces onto the chamber which would only weaken it. The Dyna-Lift Lid Lift Assist is the best designed, best performing lift assist available.

Multi-Zone Control

The HF 2918 is designed with multi-zone control. Multi-Zone control means the kiln uses more than one thermocouple (temperature sensor) to control the heat in the firing chamber. The kiln chamber is divided into heat zones, each with its own thermocouple. Each zone temperature is controlled very precisely. The end result is a very even temperature distribution from top to bottom.

2 Position Lid Vent

The HF 2918 is equipped with a 2 position lid vent. Perfect for speeding up the cooling process.

Swing View Equipped

The HF 2918 temperature controls are fitted to a Swing View Adjustable Enclosure. The swing view is a pivoting, swing-up enclosure that allows you to rotate the control to a comfortable viewing and programming angle.

The swing view pairs well with touchscreen controls like the TAP I and Icon+ as viewing angle can be perfectly aligned.

3" Firebrick with No Loss of Chamber Volume

Historically kiln designs were based on 2-1/2" firebrick. As 3" firebrick began to show favor in high temperature designs many kiln manufacturers simply
reduced the firing chamber size to accommodate the thicker firebrick while leaving the outside dimensions the same.

Evenheat took a different direction. Instead of making the chamber smaller the company kept it the same while increasing the outside dimensions. In this way there is no loss in chamber volume and common, standard kiln furniture would continue to fit.

Swing-Away Peephole Covers

These kiln designs feature swing-away peephole covers as opposed to plugs. Plugs get lost and they get broken. The attached peephole covers remain on the kiln and simply swing open and closed. You won't lose them and they certainly won't break.

Lid Prop

The HF 2918 is provided with lid prop bars that positively keeps the lid in the open position. Simple operation is made even easier with the well designed lid handle.

Relay Access Port

The HF 2918  incorporates a Relay Access Port for simple, no-panel-off relay replacement. Simply remove the access plate to gain access to the mechanical relays. There's no need to remove the control panel and dig into the internal wiring. It's absolutely simple and effective!

It's a given that mechanical relays will fail at some point. This relay access port really comes in handy when they do.

Full Stainless Steel Jackets

Multi-section, multi-jacketed kilns were conceived to lower production costs for the kiln manufacturer and to make life easier for the person installing the kiln. These are worthy goals but they come at the cost of kiln quality. It's a trade off Evenheat was not willing to make.

Evenheat builds its kilns with full stainless jackets from top to bottom. Full stainless jackets mean absolutely solid, life extending construction. There are no leaks, no shifting and no weakness. Insist on Full Stainless Jackets for true build quality.

Multiple Control Options

The HF 2918 is available in a variety of Multi-Zone controls including the TAP I, Icon+ and Rampmaster II. Multi-Zone controls use multiple thermocouples (temperature sensors) to provide excellent temperature distribution throughout the firing chamber.

Quiet Drive Solid State Relay Option

The HF 2918 is available with a Quiet Drive Solid State Relay option. The Quiet Drive Solid State Relay System offers tight temperature control, high reliability and increased heating element life. Evenheat fully expects the solid state relay to last the life of the unit.

Why Upgrade from Mechanical Relays to Solid-State Relays?      

Mechanical Relays, which come standard on most kilns have internal moving parts which over time wear out and need to be replaced.  Kiln manufacturers recommend you replace your mechanical relays approximately every 2 years.  Solid-state relays have no moving parts and last far longer than standard mechanical relays and offer far better temperature control during hold times.  Since solid-state relays also have no moving parts to wear out, they NEVER need to be replaced.  You will notice that solid-state relays are silent.  The only sound you will hear is just the reassuring hum of the heating elements.  So, this factory upgrade saves you potential down time from having to wait for new relays to arrive, potential over-fires from relays sticking in the closed position, potential aggravation from having to learn how to remove and replace the mechanical relays yourself.  We think this upgrade is well worth the cost and will save you time and aggravation over the life of your kiln.
