Why Hot Shot Series?
Hot Shot has multiple different series available for any purpose. Although the Hot Shot line was developed for heat treating, we've tested them with glass and ceramics and they perform incredibly well!
Cool Touch Technology
The Hot Shot 24 Clamshell Oven and Kiln is equipped with Cool-Touch Technology that provides a safe external temperature to allow for safer operation and protection of its surroundings. Each oven comes with a removable high-density fiber kiln floor. This is ideal to assist with project setup or if it needs to be replaced. It is built with a high-quality 304 stainless-steel core construction with a fan-cooled external powder-coated enclosure. It features a dual-layer air plenum for external heat management and precise temperature control.
Top Opening Fiber Lined Clamshell with Cool Touch Handle
Using a heat-treating oven entails removing very hot material from the core to go to the next phase of the process. This oven is designed to have a clamshell door that can open far enough to not be in the way. The handle is designed for a one-handed operation for easy and quick removal of the material. Safety is a key concern so the cool touch handle is made from high-quality stainless steel. In addition, the door opens completely out of the way, to keep users safe.
Hot Shot ovens include a fiber-lined lid and full fiber body, which absorbs less heat than a firebrick kiln. For this reason, Hot Shot ovens fire and cool faster when programmed so you can use your Hot Shot kiln to fire small projects quickly!
Cooling Fan
The Hot Shot 24 Clamshell comes standard with a rear-vented cooling fan. The oven fan turns on automatically when the kiln is in operation. While the cooling fan stays on, the outer surface of the oven will stay within 68°F/20°C of room ambient. Please make sure to keep the fan unit at least 3 inches from any wall or obstruction.
Solid State Relays INCLUDED (WOW!)
All Hot Shot ovens come standard with a solid-state relay. Having a solid-state relay eliminates the distractive clicking noise that a mechanical relay makes. A solid-state relay is also more dependable and provides a longer life expectancy than a mechanical relay. Best of all, Solid-state relays deliver better temperature regulation, keeping you closer to your target temperature at every step of your firing program.
